My journey into the world of law firm podcasting began today, and I’m super psyched. All I did was purchase a mic off Amazon, (affiliate link – it got fantastic reviews on Amazon, and the price is right), but it is exciting none-the-less. Buying equipment can be a great motivator and first step towards taking action in your legal marketing efforts.
Since I’m an Amazon Prime member, I should be unwrapping this new “toy” by Tuesday, then watch out internet. I’m going to be using our master bedroom closet as a “studio” with my Mac and this mic, and then my goal is to start broadcasting my thoughts, feelings, ideas, and strategies for how I market my law practice. I’ll share mistakes I’ve made (there have been lots), and things that I’m working on right now from a legal marketing standpoint. My plan is to get an episode out at least once a week.
In addition, I’m going to try to build up a podcast to support my divorce and family law practice.
My hope for both is that I will be able to share valuable, insightful content with you, discuss topics that you find interesting and need further information on, and have guest speakers on from time to time. Here are some of the thing I will be discussing:
- Law Firm Technology and updates
- Reviews of marketing books I have read
- Mindset issues that plague the new lawyer
- The “marketing funnel” that I use to bring new clients into my practice
- How to conduct an initial consultation properly
- Who your best referral sources are and how to get them to send you clients on a regular basis
- Time management issues
- Managing staff – How I do it so that I stay productive and they stay happy
- Much, much more.
I can’t wait to get started.
If you have ideas for things you want me to address on the show, please feel free to leave your feedback in the comments section below.
